What really multiplies
your Monthly Millionaire odds

No site can give you an honest probability, because the total number of entries is not public. What can be computed is the ratio — and it points to a clear winner.

What can't be said

Nobody knows
your exact odds

A probability is your entries divided by the total in play. Wealthsimple does not publish that total, so no site can honestly quote you a percentage. Anyone showing “1 in X” invented the denominator.

What can be computed without inventing anything is the ratio. Doubling your entries doubles your chances, whatever the number of participants. That is mathematically exact and enough to decide what to do — so that is what this article sticks to.

Each month is an independent draw
Sign-up entries are reallocated for every contest. Entering twelve months running does not fill a gauge: it is twelve separate draws.

The math

How many times
you multiply your base

Take the 1,000 sign-up entries as the base, meaning the minimum to be in the draw at all. Here is what each strategy gives relative to it, on the September scale:

ProfileEntriesMultiplier
Sign-up only1,000×1
Sign-up + $1,000 deposited2,000×2
Sign-up + $25,000 deposited26,000×26
Sign-up + 1 referral101,000×101
Sign-up + 2 referrals201,000×201
Sign-up + 3 referrals300,000 (cap)×300

Multipliers relative to the 1,000-entry base, on the September 2026 scale. They describe a ratio between your own scenarios, not a probability of winning: the total number of entries in circulation is not public.

The reading is overwhelming. A single referral is worth 100,000 entries, the equivalent of depositing $100,000. Nothing else on the scale offers that ratio of effort to entries — and unlike a deposit, it does not tie up your money.

It is also the only action that pays on both sides: your referee gets their welcome bonus, and you get both the referrer bonus and the 100,000 entries. Your personal code sits behind the gift icon in the app, exactly where this shows.

Wealthsimple periodically opens a $75 to $100 per-referral program, by invitation. It does not change the entry count, but it changes the cash return on the same action considerably: how to tell whether you're invited.

The full contest detail, including the spinnable coin and how it works day to day, is in our Monthly Millionaire guide.

A contest does not justify a deposit
Depositing $25,000 to multiply your entries by 26 is still a bad trade if that money was needed elsewhere. Entries are a side effect of an account you would have opened anyway, not a reason to tie up funds.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Impossible to state honestly: Wealthsimple does not publish the total number of entries in circulation. What can be computed is the ratio between your own scenarios — doubling your entries doubles your chances, whatever the total is.
Referrals, and the gap has never been wider: 100,000 entries per person referred in September, the equivalent of depositing $100,000. Three referrals hit the 300,000 cap.
You need a Cash account funded with at least $1 to receive the 1,000 sign-up entries. A no-purchase method also exists, as required by Canadian contest law.
No. Sign-up entries are reallocated for each contest and every monthly draw is independent. Entering for twelve months does not improve the twelfth draw.
Yes, it doubles the entries earned from deposits for draws after it is activated. The overall cap of 300,000 entries per person stays the same.
The amount is random and drawn once per day, resetting at 11:59 p.m. Eastern with no carry-over. I am not publishing a numeric scale, for lack of a source I can date.
